Soil Scout wireless sensor is easy and quick to install. Just drill one hole with a cup-cutter or shovel. The fully-buried sensors don't disturb turf maintenance or farming work, golfers, athletes, or players. You can start with a handful of sensors and add more as per your soil monitoring needs. It scales for both small and large sites and everything in between. Soil Scout sensor features the longest battery lifetime in the market – up to 20 years. The sensors operate their entire life autonomously in the ground and do not need battery replacements, software updates or maintenance.

Real-time Soil Data

Soil Scout sensors measure soil moisture, temperature and salinity, and transmit the data to the Base Station for uploading to our cloud server with regular intervals. You can log onto the web-based Monitoring Service for soil conditions anytime, anywhere with a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Sensors Need No Cellular Network

Place Soil Scout sensors wherever you want to monitor soil – regardless of whether the cellular signal can reach the spot. The sensors connect automatically to the Soil Scout Base Station, which centrally relays all data to the cloud over 4G/3G/2G.

Solution Components

Wireless Sensor

Measure soil at any depth up to 2 m/6 ft below the ground. The battery life allows for up to 20 years of underground operation without maintenance. Three critical soil parameters: moisture, salinity, temperature. Uploads data to the cloud in regular intervals (choose between every 5-55 minutes). Sensors do not need cellular network, SIM card, or data plan.

Monitoring Service

The sensors automatically upload soil data to the cloud-based server – you can access the real-time Dashboard using a smartphone, tablet or laptop. View current status, history, trends, and compare different areas. Perform analytics and set alerts.

Base Station

The Soil Scout wireless sensors don’t need cellular connection themselves. They use our patented underground radio technology to connect to the Base Station, which you can place in an optimal location to set up a full wireless coverage on your property. Typical range over 500 meters. The Base Station connects to any cellular network for data uplink.

ECHO Repeater (Optional)

If more wireless reach is needed to connect more widespread sensors, the solar-powered ECHO Repeater provides you with a wireless range extension of 5–10 km line-of-sight. You can place the light-weight, cable-free ECHO Repeater anywhere at your property to extend the wireless coverage.
